Our Vision

Our vision is to empower the next generation of dancers by equipping them with, not only the tools to succeed as amazing artists but as amazing human beings. We want our dancers to look back on their time at TBPA as an experience that shaped their life for the better, creating unforgettable moments & the fondest of memories.

Our Values

Creativity & Joy

What is dance without creativity & joy? Often dancers can become bogged down in the strive for technical perfection and forget that dance is an art form. We challenge our students to always think outside of the box. From our babies playing in the magic garden to our seniors learning how to improvise and create choreography. Smiles, laughter and fun are all encouraged. We think it is important students learn how to balance work with play.

Integrity

Integrity is a crucial part of any dancers vocabulary. Dance requires dedication to correct training and the discipline to work, even when we don’t feel like it. Without integrity, students fall into habits that don’t serve them. We aim to educate students in the benefits of intrinsic motivation whether in class or in performance and examination situations, which in turn produces dancers who are self-aware and self-motivated. We encourage pride of work and humility in glory and defeat. This not only helps them with their dance education but also their academic education and life in general.

Empowerment & Education

We strive to educate our dancers in the rich history of our amazing art form but also introduce them to the modern world of dance as we see it now. By educating our students in how they, as dancers are important in our society, we empower them to share their own education with others. We believe that by empowering our students through their dance education, they will make smarter choices growing up and be empowered to stand up to peer & society pressures.

Kindness & Tolerance

We believe these are heavily linked. We encourage tolerance of differing opinions, beliefs and personalities and believe this is a key factor in teamwork. We promote kindness between classmates and strive for a judgment-free classroom experience so that all members feel free to explore their creativity and give everything a go.

A Holistic Approach

We are forever in awe of what this world provides for us but above all, the wonder of the human body, mind and spirit. We want our dancers to understand the importance of an all-round approach to their training. What you think, say and feel matters, what you put in your body matters and all of these are essential parts of being a dancer.

Courage

The courage to be yourself. To get back up when you fall. To keep going when you don't feel like it. To be vulnerable and put yourself out there in class and on stage.
